But Shields escaped punishment when he appeared for sentence at Perth Sheriff Court on Thursday as Sheriff Jennifer Bain admonished him after a period of good behaviour.
Shields had previously been made the subject of a 12-month non-harassment order after he admitted sending threatening and abusive messages to Ms Wainwright.
Perth Sheriff Court was told he made baseless claims about her new partner and issued threats about getting his "prison friends" involved.
