Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Steven Gerrard hasn't had his problems to seek this season but the biggest blow could yet be landed in the next four days. Covid chaos engulfed the camp this week and that means their manager and a host of stars didn't make the trip to Armenia.
Being without the likes of Ryan Kent, James Tavernier and Allan McGregor is no joke but Alashkert were tame in the 1-0 defeat despite playing most of the match against 10 men.
Kemar Roofe and John Lundstram are suspended as well with Gerrard hoping all goes to plan as he remains in Glasgow.Rangers also have resurgent Celtic coming across the city on Sunday but they hope updated rules on Covid guidelines could see some key men return.
