Alanis Morissette’s iconic single Ironic was almost left off her classic album Jagged Little Pill because the singer considered it nothing more than a demo.The star reveals she had to be pushed by producers and managers to include the track and had no idea it was going to be a massive hit.“I didn’t even want it on the record,” Morissette told the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast. “I remember a lot of people going, ‘Please, please, please’.
So I said, ‘OK’. That was one of the first songs we wrote, almost like a demo to get our whistles wet. But people wound up really liking the melody… I wasn’t that precious about it.”The song now features in the Broadway show Jagged Little Pill, which is currently on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.M
