Alan Shearer breaks silence on daughter's Hollie's engagement with heartfelt comment
ok.co.ukFootball icon Alan Shearer has broken his silence on his daughter Hollie’s engagement to boyfriend Joe Marchant, by commenting on her social media post.
Hollie and Joe announced their engagement on Friday 8 November in a Parisian post featuring Hollie showing off her engagement ring alongside her fiance, with the Eiffel Tower in the background.
She captioned it: “BEST DAY EVER!! Got to say yes to my favourite person.” Proud dad Alan commented on her news by posting a series of hand clap and heart-eyes emojis, leading one fan to ask him: “Did he get your permission first?!” Rugby Union’s Marcus Smith also commented by saying: “Congratulations marchánt buzzing for you both,” while fellow players Maro Itoje, Alex Dombrandt and Ben Earl also sent their congratulations.
Hollie, 29 and Joe, 28, have been together since early 2022 and relocated to Paris after Joe moved to play for Stade Francais last year.
