Airdrie and Shotts MSP welcomes funding increase for councils

Airdrie and Shotts MSP Neil Gray has welcomed a £56.3m funding increase for North Lanarkshire as part of the Scottish budget for 2025-26.The funding, part of an over £1 billion increase in investment in local government in the budget, will empower local authorities across Scotland to improve schools, roads, bins and other local services.However, the Holyrood Budget still needs to be voted through by Parliament - and local MSP Neil Gray has warned opposition politicians that they must back the budget if they want to see this real-term investment delivered to North Lanarkshire.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
