Police have locked down the A9 after a three vehicle crash in the Highlands this afternoon.Cops were called out at around 3pm Wednesday July 20 after reports of the collision on the A9 near Dalwhinnie.
The road was quickly closed off in both directions as emergency crews arrived. Images show a van and a red car which were involved in the crash, with both vehicles considerably damaged.A second picture shows the NHS air ambulance arriving at the scene, with a paramedic disembarking and taking equipment from the helicopter.
Traffic Scotland announced at 4:40pm that the A9 northbound remains closed but is open again southbound.
