A Scots man says he is no further forward in finding out what happened to his car after it was smashed up in a suspected hit and run while parked on a street.
Tom Hutchison was alerted by a neighbour to the damage at the start of the week. He suspects his car was damaged by another road user, who failed to leave a note, as the street he lives on in Edinburgh is prone to speeding drivers making risky overtakes.
The car was parked on Lower Granton Road between Friday July 29, and Monday August 1, when it is thought to have been hit. He was informed of the incident by a neighbour on Monday and went outside to find huge scrapes on the side of his black Clio and one of the back panels completely ripped off.
So far, no information that could be useful in tracking down the culprit has been obtained by either Tom or the police. Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Tom said he suspects the damage was caused by a driver making a risky overtake on the fast road, where he said accidents tend to happen quite frequently.
