A white father and son have been charged with murder after an unarmed black man was shot dead by the younger man while out for a jog.
The killing of Ahmaud Arbery, 25, happened on February 23 but charges were only brought this week after a witness' graphic and distressing video of the shooting emerged.
Retired police officer Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son Travis, 34, were both armed with a gun when they followed and confronted Mr Arbery in the US town of Brunswick, Georgia.
In the video, Travis fires several blasts from a shotgun at point-blank range before Mr Arbery, who would have turned 26 on Friday, stumbles and falls face down onto the road.
