In 24 hours, the neighbouring districts have seen a man blasted in the leg and two shots fired at a house. Senior detectives say the two incidents are not linked.
They also believe they are not associated with a long-running three-way feud involving two Cheetham Hill crime gangs and a third from Salford which is being investigated by GMP's Operation Haemus.
