In her first public address since stepping down as a senior royal alongside her husband Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, attended the One Young World Summit in Manchester on Monday as a keynote speaker.  She began her speech by saying, "It's very nice to be back in the U.K." Meghan Markle recalled her first experience at the One Young World summit, where she was "the girl from 'Suits.'" (Chris Jackson) Markle, who herself is a counselor, shared with the crowd a memory of her first summit in 2014. "In many ways, at the time, I was probably a lot like each of you – young, ambitious, advocating for the things I deeply and profoundly believed in – and also looking around and wondering, ‘How on earth did I get here?’" The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not dating at the time of her visit.Their relationship would not unfold until two years later.

Naman Ramachandran The subject of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, one of the topics of discussion at the Venice Film Festival, bubbled to the surface again on Tuesday with Tilda Swinton making a statement with her hair dyed yellow. “It’s my honor to wear half of the Ukrainian flag,” Swinton said at the press conference for Joanna Hogg’s “The Eternal Daughter,” when complimented on her look by a journalist. Swinton expressed that it was an honor later during the conference as well. The star wore a light blue top, which complements the dark blue of the Ukraine flag. Shot during lockdown, “The Eternal Daughter” follows an artist and her elderly mother who confront long-buried secrets when they return to a former family home, now a hotel haunted by its mysterious past. Swinton plays both mother and daughter. The names of the mother and daughter in the film are Rosalind and Julie, the names for Swinton and her real life daughter Honor Swinton Byrne in Hogg’s “The Souvenir” and “The Souvenir Part II.”

He recently returned to Australia after shooting his third film, “Housekeeping for Beginners” in Skopje, North Macedonia to attend the world premier of his second film “Of An Age.” That took him to the Melbourne International Film Festival and before traveling on to Western Australia for CinefestOz where the film won the festival’s only recurring award, and one of the industry’s richest, worth A$100,000 (or $65,000). The Macedonian-born, Melbourne-raised film maker broke onto the international stage earlier this year with his feature debut “You Won’t Be Alone”, a supernatural folk-horror tale about a girl who becomes a shape-shifter in a 19th century Macedonian village. The film won critical acclaim at Sundance and received a limited theatrical release in the U.S. through Focus Features, which also holds worldwide distribution rights.

Mila Kunis’ past is coming back to haunt her in the upcoming thriller. Slated to debut on Netflix in October, the film is adapted from Jessica Knoll’s popular 2015 novel of the same name.

Award winners will be announced on Sept. 22.  Backed by German public broadcast giants ARD and ZDF, KiKa figures as Germany’s biggest kids connect provider. But it will face tough competition from TF1 Unité Jeunesse, the children’s  arm of giant French broadcast network TF1 whose kids slot TFOU broadcasts 70 hours of programming a year.
