Adrian Dunbar teases Line Of Duty return: 'Everyone's gunning for it!'

Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls were joined today by Adrian Dunbar today and, of course, there was one question the hosts couldn't wait to ask.

Adrian plays Hastings in the Line of Duty and Susanna, 51, soon asked the question fans are desperate to know the answer for – will there be more episodes of the hit show?

He replied: "Yes, we really hope so. Everybody's kind of gunning for it. So I mean, yeah." Ed, 55, excitedly asked: "A full proper series?" "Well, we don't really know," Adria admitted. "It's entirely down to Jed [Mecurio, show creator] and so we're keeping our fingers crossed within the next few weeks or months we might hear something." When the last series came of Line of Duty came to an end, some viewers were left disappointed and begged for the story to continue.

Sharing his thoughts, Adrian said: "I mean, the story can continue. In terms of the story finishing I think it was a really interesting ending so far as that's what reality is like.  "It's usually one guy, it's not a Mr Big, it's just somebody along the line who decides to discard a piece of information, not make the call, not pass the information on, so in that respect I think it was very realistic. "But it didn't satisfy the sensational need in the public." Rumours have swirled for some time over whether or not the Line of Duty cast will reunite for another series.
