Adele Roberts has penned a heartfelt tribute to Deborah James after the mum-of-two passed away yesterday, Tuesday 28 June, following her battle with bowel cancer.
Deborah, 40, was first diagnosed with cancer five years ago and, while she defied doctors’ odds, she heartbreakingly revealed earlier this year that she’d begun receiving end-of-life care.
Adele, 43, was also diagnosed with bowel cancer herself last year, and went through months of gruelling treatment. Now, in the wake of Deborah’s untimely death, Adele took to Instagram to thank her for all her support. “My heart hurts,” the BBC Radio 1 presenter’s sad post began. “Thank you for everything Deborah.Thank you for being so strong for so long and helping others when you were in so much pain yourself. “You are the best of us.Thinking of your family and friends and I am forever grateful to you for helping me and my family”.
Adele added: “Rebellious hope forever”. Deborah’s family confirmed the news of her passing, and said she died “surrounded by her family”.
