Adam Thomas got the chance to confront his absent father in his new ITV documentary with brothers Ryan and Scott. The three brothers grew up in Manchester knowing very little about their soul singer dad Dougie’s Indian heritage.
And Ryan, 35, says meeting long-lost relatives while making the ITV documentary Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai drew them all closer together.
Dougie’s father, Nolan, emigrated to Britain from India in 1947, and settled in Manchester. His three grandsons never knew that Nolan, who had been a journalist for The Times of India, left an extended family behind.
