Adam Peaty confirms Paris Olympics fate after swimmer caught Covid-19

Adam Peaty has made a splash again at the Paris Olympics, powering through the water just days after his Covid-19 scare. After testing positive for the virus on Monday following his silver win the day before, Adam was unable to complete in the mixed 4 x 100m medley relay on Friday, but returned to the pool on Saturday 3 August for the qualifying heats of the men's 4 x 100m relay medley, alongside teammates Oliver Morgan, Joe Litchfield and Matt Richards.

Adam shared his post-recovery journey stating: "I'm glad I've got a heat swim [done]. It's my first hard stuff since I had the final on Sunday last week," and added that despite a tough week, he's aiming to power through.

He announced after his diagnosis, "I'll now be focusing on a fast, full recovery to give my best in the team relays later in the week.

I've had so many messages and I'll get back to you all, thank you for your support as it has truly been an unforgettable journey." The British Olympic Association confirmed the Olympian's plight, saying, "Adam Peaty began feeling unwell on Sunday, ahead of his men's 100m breaststroke final.
