American Cinema Editors‘ annual awards gala, the ACE Eddies, is moving off of its January 18 date amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, organizers announced on Monday.
Originally, the ceremony had been set to take place in UCLA’s Royce Hall on January 18. ACE’s annual Nominee Cocktail Party, a private event for nominees only, which was originally scheduled for January 16, is also being pushed, with new dates expected to be announced soon.
As previously announced, this year’s ACE Eddies have pivoted since the fires broke out from a black-tie, red carpet event to a “Come as You Are” community-building fundraiser with a portion of ticket sales being donated to wildfire relief.
In a lengthy statement to members, ACE tonight said the following: “Due to the ongoing concerns for safety within our LA communities, we have made arrangements with UCLA and Royce Hall to postpone the 75th ACE Eddie Awards.
