ABBA 'will not reunite' for Eurovision 2024 in Sweden, according to Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson

ABBA have denied rumours that they will reunite for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in their native Sweden, on what would be the 50th anniversary of them winning the contest with Waterloo.

Dashing the hopes of Eurovision fans everywhere, ABBA svengalis Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson spoke to the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire on last night's Newsnight, where they ruled out an in-person, on-stage reunion with Anni-Frid and Agnetha.

Following Loreen's record-breaking victory at Eurovision 2023 with the emotional trance smash Tattoo, the contest will be returning to Sweden next year, with Loreen herself hoping it will take place in Stockholm, the worldwide centre of pop music.

But if you thought this was the perfect time for an ABBA reunion, do we have (bad!) news for you. "I don't want to [reunite]," Andersson said, "and if I don't want to, the others won't.
