AARP Movies For Grownups Awards Ceremony Postponed Due To L.A. Wildfires

The AARP Movies for Grownups Awards, which were set to take place Saturday in Beverly Hills, has been postponed due to the wildfires burning across Los Angeles, organizers said Wednesday.

It becomes the second awards show to make that call today, after the Critics Choice Awards said it was pushing its Sunday ceremony to later in the month.

The Movie for Grownups Awards, which champions films for the 50-plus audience, was set to announce its winners Saturday at the Beverly Wilshire, with Alan Cumming aboard to host.

Organizers said a new date for the AARP’s ceremony has not been set. “Due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles and in consideration of the families and communities impacted, we will postpone AARP’s Annual Movies for Grownups Awards originally scheduled to take place Saturday, January 11, 2025 in Beverly Hills,” the group said today in a statement. “We extend our sympathies to all who are affected.
