Oscars 2025 Eliminates Best Song Performances, Execs Reveal How They'll Honor Songwriters Instead

The 2025 Academy Awards ceremony will not feature performances from the Best Original Song nominees, eliminating a huge part of past shows.

The Oscars ceremonies in the past have created some incredible moments from the nominated songs, including Ryan Gosling‘s “I’m Just Ken” performance for Barbie, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper‘s “Shallow” performance for A Star Is Born, and Frozen actress Idina Menzel‘s “Let It Go” performance, which created the Adele Dazeem phenomenon.

Some of the expected nominees this year for Best Original Song included songs from Emilia Perez performed by Zoe Saldana and Selena Gomez, plus Miley Cyrus‘ song from The Last Showgirl.
