Manchester United lost out on Aaron Ramsey's services when the midfielder made the move from Cardiff City to Arsenal because the Gunners intended to play him straight away.
That's according to Dave Jones, the former Bluebirds manager who was at the helm of the Welsh club when the then youngster made the switch to North London ahead of Old Trafford.
In the summer of 2008, Arsenal, United and Everton were among the clubs interested in the highly rated youngster. Ultimately, Cardiff accepted a bid from the Gunners worth £4.8m for the then 18-year-old.
