Ethan Shanfeld The next two installments of A24‘s monthly screening series with Imax are “Moonlight” and “Spring Breakers.” “Moonlight,” Barry Jenkins’ best picture winner from 2016, will return to the big screen on Thursday, Feb.

27. “Spring Breakers,” Harmony Korine’s 2013 college crime comedy, will be re-released on Wednesday, March 19. Tickets are on sale for both movies here.

Both films will screen at Imax locations across the U.S. and at select locations internationally. The A24 and Imax screening series kicked off last March with Alex Garland’s “Ex Machina,” ahead of the release of his 2024 blockbuster “Civil War.” Since then, the indie studio has rereleased fan-favorite films like “Hereditary,” “Midsommar,” “Uncut Gems,” “Oasis: Supersonic,” “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “Stop Making Sense,” “The Lighthouse,” “The Witch,” “The Green Knight” and “Talk to Me.” Rereleasing movies in theaters — whether for one night only or for an extended run — has become trendy as studios look to capitalize on their catalogs.

As Variety reported in December, at least 27 legacy films were rereleased in 2024 into more than 100 domestic theaters — in many cases, more than 1,000 — grossing more than $90 million in total.
