Actress Lisa Faulkner has recalled the heartbreaking difficulty of a failed pregnancy - describing it as "a very dark time".
The EastEnders and Holby City says "something happened overnight" which left her wanting a baby "so badly". But when she struggled to conceive, she was left feeling "so lonely".
Lisa had three rounds of IVF before suffering a failed ectopic pregnancy. Now 52, Lisa has opened up in an interview with Good Housekeeping, recalling: "Those years were a very dark time.
One minute I wasn't that bothered about kids, apart from my nieces, and then something happened overnight and I wanted a baby so badly.
