A man who tried to break into a van was hacked on Facebook by his victim after he left his phone and ID behind in the vehicle.
The thief, who reportedly tried to break into the van in Newton Heath, was caught in the act by the victim during the attempted break in.
He reportedly quickly left the scene. But he left behind a number of valuables, including his phone which was still logged into his Facebook account in the van, according to reports on social media.
A friend of the victim tagged the alleged thief in a Facebook post, saying: "Here is Newton Heath's finest mastermind. Attempted to nick my mate's van tonight. "First major fault was being seen, second was leaving all, yes all, of his details behind.
