Back to Forks? Nearly 12 years after the final Twilight movie was released, Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling franchise is reportedly getting the TV series treatment.A Twilight TV drama is in the early stages of development via Lionsgate Television, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The outlet noted on Wednesday, April 19, that the potential project is still in its “infancy” and does not have a network, platform or a writer attached yet.Meyer, 49, released her first novel in the series, Twilight, in 2005.
She went on to publish three more novels, After the vampire books hit the bestseller list, they were quickly optioned for film by Lionsgate.The first flick, also titled Twilight, premiered in 2008.
Directed by Catherine Hardwicke, the drama starred Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan), Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen), Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black), Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen), Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale), Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale) and Elizabeth Reaser (Esme Cullen).
