‘A mess’ - Erik ten Hag given deadline to save his Manchester United job

Robbie Savage says Erik ten Hag should be allowed until at least Christmas to get his Manchester United tenure back on track following a worrying start to the season.

The former Reds academy product questioned several decisions made by Ten Hag over the summer, including his recruitment policy and the call to hand Bruno Fernandes the captaincy.

He has branded the situation at Old Trafford as “a mess” and says part of the issue is down to not having a distinct style of play.

Sunday’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City means the club have won just half of their opening 10 Premier League games. Ten Hag finds his team already 11 points off top spot with a loss to Fulham in their next league match potentially seeing them slip out of the top half of the table.
