Hundreds gathered to remember three little girls who were killed on the first day of the summer holidays when all they wanted to do was dance.

Six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine were all stabbed at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party on Hart Street yesterday (July 29) in a sickening attack that has sent shockwaves through their quiet seaside town and across the world.

As the Southport Town Hall clock struck sixon Tuesday night (July 30) a sea of heartbroken and grief-stricken mourners descended to pay their respects and remember the innocent young girls whose lives were cut short. Emma Ireland, 43, holding a bouquet of flowers in one hand and her daughter’s in the other, said while choking back tears: “I’m here out of solidarity and to support the families who have lost their children and to thank the emergency services and the staff at the Hart Space. “We run a swim school and teach children it’s the best job in the world and for that to happen is just unimaginable.
