Nils Koppen has revealed one of Rangers' key objectives going forward is to sign at least ONE player from another Scottish club per season. The director of football recruitment at the Ibrox was part of a hectic summer schedule at the club for Philippe Clement as they looked high and low for fresh talent to come in the door while also bringing down their wage bill.
They successful did that with the likes of John Lundstram, Todd Cantwell, Borna Barisic and Connor Goldson just a few of a host of names to head out with players like Connor Barron, Jefte, Robin Propper and Hamza Igamane coming into the Ibrox dressing room.Transfer recruitment is key at any club and over the years Rangers may have looked further afield than close to home in order to bag new talent.
Barron is one that arrived this summer from Aberdeen and has established himself as a key player in Clement's ranks. During Steven Gerrard's reign he brought in the likes of Jake Hastie from Motherwell and Scott Wright from the Dons.
He also bagged Glen Kamara from Dundee in a £50K deal after he penned a pre-contract and he went on to be a big player for the Ibrox side.
