Former Manchester United sporting director Dan Ashworth has parted ways with the club after just five months.Ashworth oversaw a significant summer transfer spree, with the club spending £200million on five new signings.
A statement from Manchester United read: "Dan Ashworth will be leaving his role as Sporting Director of Manchester United by mutual agreement.
We would like to thank Dan for his work and support during a transitional period for the club and wish him well for the future." During his time at the club, Ashworth played a key role in recruiting players, working closely with ex-manager Erik ten Hag to bring in Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs De Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Joshua Zirkzee.
