19-year-old appears in court charged with murder of man found dead in church garden

He was discovered by members of the public lying on the ground by the town centre church, just before 7.50pm that eveningDespite medical help he died at the scene.Mr Short was arrested and charged with murder on August 12.He appeared at Manchester Crown Court via video link from HMP Forest Bank this morning (August 14).No pleas were entered, but Mr Short's plea and trial preparation hearing was set for October 30 and he was remanded in custody.A preliminary trial date was set for February 1, 2021.

A 13-year-old boy from Whiston in Merseyside also appeared in court this morning also charged with the murder of Mr McMyler.
