But there is finally light on the horizon, with venues allowed to reopen - albeit with safety measures still in place - from Monday May 17.
For some operators, this will be the first time they can welcome customers inside their spaces. Many new bars and restaurants have taken shape in Manchester in recent months but haven't been able to let any members of the public inside.
