Zoe Ball 's son Woody Cook said he's "glad to see Zoe smiling through tough times" after the BBC Radio 2 star was photographed being comforted by her ex-spouse Norman Cook - better known as Fatboy Slim - on Tuesday outside a cafe.
Zoe, who is the BBC' s highest female earner, has been off the airwaves since August 8, leaving fans worried about her. Gaby Roslin and Celebrity Race Across the World winner Scott Mills have been filling in for the star who earns £950,000 a year.
With concern growing around Zoe's absence from her radio show, 23-year-old Woody has spoken out. He told MailOnline : "My mum and I like to keep our private lives to ourselves but I will say I have stepped up and spent a lot more time with her recently as she has always been there when I've had tough times.
I’m glad to see her smiling." BBC bosses reportedly told Zoe, 53, to "take all the time she needs" off work following the death of her mother earlier this year.
