Zoe Ball was reduced to tears as she presented her final BBC Radio 2 Breakfast show after six years. The broadcaster announced last month that she'd be leaving for pastures new this Christmas.

When she made the announcement, she said it had been a "privilege" to share her mornings with listeners as she announced her departure from her BBC Radio 2 breakfast show having fronted the morning programme since 2019 after taking over from Chris Evans.

Zoe said at the time: "After six incredible years on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, it’s time for me to step away from the very early mornings and focus on family." On Friday (December 20), the 54-year-old broadcaster vowed to have "lots of fun" as she bid farewell to her top radio job by playing lots of festive tunes and taking calls from her beloved listeners.

Speaking at the start of the programme, Zoe teased with a few adapted lines of One Day More from the musical Les Miserables, saying: “Another day, another destiny, one final show from me, ZB – only joking I’m not going to sing, let’s have some Daft Punk.” She then played the French electronic duo’s One More Time, followed by a message she read out from a man who said he was driving home for Christmas early so he could listen to her last show.
