Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball has apologised to fans after leaving part way through her breakfast show. The broadcaster sparked concern after her unexpected absence on Monday morning (April 4).

After pulling out of her show she was replaced by travel reporter Richie Anderson who explained that Zoe was unwell. The 51-year-old was running late for her 6.30am start due to having a flat tyre, with Richie covering until she took back the reins at around 6.50am.

But Richie took back over at 7.30am and he explained: "I'm Richie Anderson and I'm in because Zoe's not feeling too well unfortunately.

So she's had to go home which means you're stuck with me. We are sending Zo loads of love." READ MORE: Molly-Mae Hague sends out message to fans as she opens up about her 'gym anxiety' Richie continued to present until 8.30am before Ken Bruce came on air an hour before his scheduled slot.
