Zendaya Says Being a 'Disney Kid' Is Part Of Her 'Heritage'

Zendaya isn’t ashamed of being labeled a Disney kid. The 24-year-old Euphoria actress spoke to Carey Mulligan about her time on the channel as a star of several of their television shows and revealed that her time on Disney is a part of who she is. “You surely can’t think of yourself as a Disney kid now,” Carey noted in their interview for Variety‘s Actors on Actors while mentioning Zendaya‘s recent Emmy win.

But Zendaya doesn’t mind it. “The thing is, I am. And to a degree, I am grateful for that. That’s where I started, and I learned so much from that experience,” she shared. Zendaya added, “It’s just kind of been this slow progression, and I am happy that it’s all been to prove it to myself and not to anybody else, you know?
