Zendaya makes Emmy Awards history as she becomes youngest star to win lead actress gong

Zendaya came over all emotional as she made history at the Emmy Awards 2020 on Sunday night.The annual awards took place virtual due to coronavirus, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting from Los Angeles, and many of the night’s big winners accepting their awards from the comfort of their own homes.

Fans saw the likes of Schitt’s Creek sweep the board as it won seven awards in the comedy categories, while Mark Ruffalo took home the prize for Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie and Zendaya picking up Lead Actress for her role in Euphoria.

This year saw Zendaya nominated for her first ever Emmy Award and she beat off competition from the likes of Olivia Colman, Jennifer Aniston and Jodi Comer to land the accolade.
