on the reality show’s 27th season. Shallcross, 26, was featured on the most recent season of “The Bachelorette.” Host Jesse Palmer announced that the tech exec from Anaheim, California, will be the next Bachelor during Tuesday’s live finale. “He’s been a front-runner for a while,” a production source told Page Six. “There’s no denying that the audience loves him.” During his time on Season 19 of “The Bachelorette,” things got rocky between Shallcross and leading lady Rachel Recchia, who feared the then-25-year-old was too young for long-term commitment.

While he made it into Recchia’s final four, things quickly fell apart. “I was kind of in shock and disbelief in what was happening between us,” Shallcross said on-screen during the finale.

Recchia said their goodbye was “hard to watch back” because her feelings for him were “real.”His bio on ABC describes him as an “old-fashioned romantic” who has a “huge heart that he is so ready to share forever with the right woman.” His fun facts include that he would love to be Spider-Man for a day, and that he doesn’t like breakfast because “eggs don’t agree with him.” And his perfect woman is compassionate and “ready for romance,” since he wants to “lay it on thick” and plan “thoughtful surprises.” The 6-foot-4 California native also has a famous uncle — character actor Patrick Warburton, 57, best known for playing Puddy, one of Elaine’s boyfriends on “Seinfeld”; “The Tick” and Lemony Snicket in “A Series of Unfortunate Events.” His Instagram is filled with photos of Shallcross playing football, doing outdoorsy activities such as boating, and hanging out with his family.
