Zach Johnson has insisted he was not aiming a a foul-mouthed blast at the The Masters ' crowd amid a nightmare round on the 12th.
The 48-year-old turned the Augusta air blue when he erupted lost his cool after his triple-bogey six at the par three 12th. Johnson was visibly frustrated and appeared to take aim at the spectators following sarcastic cheers.
TV cameras clearly picked him up saying "oh f*** off". Johnson has endured a year to forget after Team USA – under his guidance as captain – flopped spectacularly in Rome at the Ryder Cup.
Johnson's nightmare round at the Masters has led to him missing the cut - but he insists the rage was nothing to do with the crowd.
