Young mum facing redundancy says coronavirus pandemic has made her lose independence

A young mum has accused her bosses of hiring staff on temporary contracts so they are easier to let go after finding out she will lose her job because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Anne also said she has had her independence snatched away after being told her post was redundant because due to the lockdown.

The 25-year-old is one of thousands of young mums who have seen their jobs evaporate due to the lockdown and now she fears she could face a battle to get back into the workplace.

She said the news of her job loss came as "things were getting better" adding that she had been on a short-term contract at a London university, despite her manager asking for her to be made permanent staff.
