A nightclub bouncer has told how he nearly died after 'continuously' vaping during overnight shifts. James Johnson, 20, was left in a coma after becoming addicted to the disposable devices.
He was rushed to intensive care and diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia, caused by chemicals from the vapes entering his lungs.During shifts, he said he would constantly puff on his £12 vape as it was 'something to do' as hours dragged on.
One vape, which has around 2,400 puffs, would only last two days.As reported in Wales Online, the dad-of-one has now only been left with one functional lung and has been told that he'll die before 40 if he continues vaping.James, who will take part in a charity boxing match once he's fully recovered, said: "My left lung has managed to have been saved, but my right lung hasn't come back functioning because it was a lot worse.
It was too late to save it really. I am still lucky to be here."James, from Blackpool, Lancashire, started vaping around 18 months ago.
