A nursery has introduced new security measures after a young child was left locked inside the building after closing time. The child at Sweet P Daycare in Caerphilly Road, Birchgrove, Cardiff, was locked inside the nursery for around 15 minutes after the building shut on July 13.
The nursery, which looks after children up to the age of five, said the incident had occurred due to a computer error. An internal investigation carried out by the nursery’s management found that software used by staff indicated that the child had been collected when it had not.

It has not been stated what, if any, further action will be taken. In a statement, the nursery said the safety of children in its care was its "utmost priority" and that new measures had been adopted to ensure the incident did not happen again.
