An increasing number of young people are turning against the idea of having a Royal family, according to a new poll. Research has revealed that more Brits under 25 are in favour of having an elected head of state instead.
The study, conducted by YouGov, has shown that only 31% of 18-24 year olds support the continuation of the monarchy in its current form.
In comparison, 41% want to see it replaced with an elected figurehead, reports Metro. It is the first time in the poll’s history that fewer people in the 18-24 age group would rather keep the Royal family as it is.
