The DJ was missing from her Radio 1 mid-morning show on Monday 1 June, and when she returned on 2 June, she explained that she did not have the ‘mental strength’ to speak to listeners following the death of George Floyd.

Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died in Minneapolis last week when a white police officer knelt on his neck during an arrest.
