'You had a warning shot... and were stopped by the same police officer'

A man given a 'warning shot' by police was caught by the same officer weeks later. Charles Harris, 22, was stopped by an officer who informed him nitrous oxide was illegal.

Weeks later the same officer saw Harris again, and discovered a stash of cannisters and balloons in his car. Since he was arrested, nitrous oxide has now been made a class C drug.

Government documents said the change came following 'particularly concerning rates of use by school age children and young adults' and 'anecdotal reports of an increase in social harms such as drug driving and littering of discarded canisters'.

Manchester Crown Court heard that Harris was initially stopped by the officer on July 9, 2022, who informed him that nitrous oxide was illegal. READ MORE: She got a WhatsApp from an unknown number...
