New Celtic recruit Yosuke Ideguchi admits he wasn't ready to play abroad when he agreed a deal at Leeds United. Ideguchi left the J-League to test himself in Europe back in 2018 as he left Gamba Osaka for Elland Road.

But the dream move didn't go as planned as he failed to make a first-team appearance for the club during their time in the English Championship. He was shipped out loan to Cultural Leonesa in Spain and German outfit Greuther Furth before returning to Osaka in 2019.

The Japan cap now wants to grasp his opportunity to make his mark on the European game in the Scottish Premiership. Speaking at his first Celtic media conference, Ideguchi said: "The first time I went abroad as a football player, it didn't go the way I wanted. "I always wanted to try again, Celtic have given me a second chance and that's why I 100 per cent wanted to come here. "Glasgow is really beautiful.

I've been walking around and its a nice city. In terms of football, team-mates have been amazing and staff have been really friendly.
