Leece have been linked with the Albanian international for several weeks but have only recently made their move. They will need to significantly up their offer if they want to strike a deal.The 27-year-old midfielder was a bargain basement signing from MTK Budapest last summer.
He quickly established himself as a Pittodrie favourite and that has brought him to the attention of the Italian market, where Christian Panucci and Sergio Porrini were his former international coaches.
Italian sources have also confirmed that Verona are also likely to make an offer but nothing has been tabled yet. Lecce, however, would be the player’s preference.
