The Yellowstone deaths just keep on coming… As the second half of season five continues, another longtime, original character on the show was killed off in the episode airing Sunday night (December 1) on Paramount Network.

This follows the death of Kevin Costner‘s character John Dutton, as well as the death of Dawn Olivieri‘s character Sarah Atwood, who hired the hitmen that killed John Dutton. Denim Richards‘ Colby Mayfield had an unfortunate accident during the episode.

Colby was rescuing Carter who got trapped and cornered in a stall by a troubled horse. After Carter escaped from the stall, Colby got kicked in the chest by the horse, causing him to die.

Carter then shot the horse. Denim Richards has been playing ranch hand Colby Mayfield since the very first episode of the series.
