Yara Shahidi is making an entrance! The 21-year-old actress hit the red carpet for the 2021 Met Gala on Monday (September 13) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Yara told red carpet host Keke Palmer that her look, which featured a strapless gown with silver floral beading, matching gloves and a dramatic veil, was a nod to Josephine Baker.

She accessorized with a diamond headband and matching necklace. The annual Costume Institute Gala is the fashion world’s equivalent of the Oscars and the event is usually held on the first Monday of May, but it was postponed until September 2021 due to the pandemic.
