Rachel Hylton, a former X Factor finalist, is reportedly on the police's wanted list after allegedly failing to appear in court to face drug charges.The 42 year old singer, who appeared on the talent show in 2008, is said to have failed to appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court this week.The 42 year old singer was a standout contestant during the fifth season of the now-defunct ITV talent show, impressing judges Louis Walsh, Cheryl, Dannii Minogue and Simon Cowell with her rendition of Amy Winehouse's You Know I'm No Good in her first audition in 2008.
Rachel, who was 26 at the time, made it to the final stages of the series as one of the acts from the over 25s category, mentored by Aussie icon Dannii.
Now, 15 years on from her X Factor days, Rachel is said to have had a warrant for her arrest issued after reportedly being a no-show at a scheduled appearance before Crawley Magistrates' Court on 29 October, reports the Mirror.The promising singer was reportedly charged with possessing cannabis resin at Crawley Police Station on 13 October.
Cannabis resin is classified as a Class B drug by The Home Office, which states: "The classification of drugs, in Schedule 2 to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, is based on the harm they may cause." According to The Sun, Rachel failed to show up for her court date on Tuesday, leading authorities to issue a warrant for her arrest without bail.
