Liam found fame on the 2010 series of X Factor, and the show has paid tribute to him online. As they posted a photo of the star, they penned: "We are heartbroken by the sad passing of Liam Payne.
He was immensely talented and, as part of One Direction, Liam will leave a lasting legacy on the music industry and fans around the world.
Our thoughts are with his friends, family and all who loved him."Liam was a member of the popular five-piece band One Direction, which also included Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Harry Styles.
