A D-Day hero has been reunited with his skean dhu after it was lost by blundering airport staff.World War II veteran John Lamont, 94, wanted to wear full Highland dress – including the dagger he had carried with him as he landed on the beaches in 1944 – during a visit last year to a French village he helped liberate.However, Edinburgh Airport security confiscated his ceremonial knife and it then went missing.But they have finally redeemed themselves by recovering the heirloom and returning it to the delighted former Highland Light Infantry soldier.John, of Glasgow, said: “It’s great to see it again.“I had that skean dhu all through World War II.
