Writers & Studios Near Agreement to End WGA Strike, Sources Say
justjared.comAccording to insiders, the WGA strike could be coming to an end. On Wednesday night (September 20), CNBC reported that writers and producers are closer to finalizing an agreement after a face-to-face meeting.
Sources told the outlet that the two sides met in the hopes to finalize a deal on Thursday. Keep reading to find out what else they said… They added that while people involved were optimistic, the strike could continue through the end of the year if a deal is not reached.
The WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers released a joint statement that they would meet for bargaining.
Both sides are set to reconvene at 9am PT on Thursday for another meeting. WGA members have been on strike for more than 100 days, with actors joining the picket line in July.
